employer sponsored visas - visa requirements - ENS


The ENS has been developed for Australian employers to recruit permanent highly skilled staff when they have been unable to fill the position from the Australian Labour Market.

The ENS has two stages:

Stage 1: Nomination by an employer;
Stage 2: Employee’s application for a visa (nominee’s).

Stage 1 - Employer Requirements



The employer needs to show the following:

  • Company is located in Australia;
  • Company has a position for a highly skilled person;
  • The position if full time and for at least 3 years;
  • Show Labour Market Testing that indicates they have not been able to fill the position in the Australian Labour Market (except MODL positions).

Stage 2 – Employee’s Requirements

The employee needs to show the following:
  • Has the required skills for the position;
  • Qualified for the position;
  • Less than 45 years of age;
  • Has vocational English.
