Visa Evidence Charge (VEC)

From the 24th of November 2012 visa holders will need to pay a fee of AU$70 to have a visa label placed in their passport. More information here.

For Employers

Are you an Australian employer that cannot locate skilled employees from the domestic workforce? Have you heard of the temporary 457 Employer Sponsored Visa but you are unsure as to what the process entails or where to start?

The 457 visa has been specifically designed to assist employers in your situation to fill skills shortages on a temporary basis. The first step in sponsoring an overseas worker is to apply for approval as a Standard Business Sponsor with the Department of Home Affairs.

Partner Visas

If you are married or in a de facto relationship with an Australian and want to reside in Australia on a permanent basis you may want to consider applying for a Partner Visa. As every relationship is different it is sometimes difficult to prove every aspect of a relationship as defined by the Department of Home Affairs.

Student Visas

If you are considering undertaking a course of study in Australia there are requirements regarding your genuine intention to study in Australia on a temporary basis of which you should be aware. Visa Processing times

If you are planning to lodge an Australian visa application you should be aware of the estimated processing time as published by the Department of Home Affairs. The time a visa application will take to process will vary depending on what type of visa you apply for, where it is lodged and whether there are compelling or compassionate circumstances applicable to the case.
