Skilled migration services tailored to your situation
Last year the Department of Immigration announced a new visa fee structure for many Australian visa applications. This included an increase to many visa application charges as well as adding costs for secondary applicants (family members).

At National Visas, we understand these additional costs directly affect our clients' budget while they are pursuing their dreams to migrate to Australia on a Skilled Visa. For this reason, we have decided to make significant changes to our fee structure, which no doubt will help our clients to achieve their goals and dreams in a very professional and cost-effective way.

Resident Return Visa
If you are a permanent resident of Australian and considering overseas travel, you must have a valid re-entry visa to return. You should start the process as soon as possible. Sometimes this process can be fast (1-2 days), but if you have not travelled outside Australia for years and are not in the government's systems, it can take considerably longer.

Visa Refusals − what to do when the unthinkable happens
This article is written by Ivanna Cheng, one of our registered and experienced migration advisors.

Imagine this scenario...

You receive a decision notification email from the Department of Immigration. Your heart is pounding at the prospect of finally having your Australian Visa - one you've worked hard at, one you've submitted copious amounts of supporting documents for. The email pops open and you scan it quickly, wide-eyed in anticipation.

Your eye freezes on one word, there in bold at the top of the email - REFUSAL.

Your heart sinks. A feeling of shock and dismay washes over you, which is quickly replaced by panic. You read the email again several times in disbelief. How did this happen? What did you do wrong? What can you do now?

Applying for the prospective marriage (fiancée) visa
This article is written by Esther Taft, our resident Family visa expert.

The prospective marriage visa may be appropriate for you if you are at least 18 years of age, in a relationship with an Australian citizen or permanent resident and you intend to come to Australia to marry your partner.

As an example of when this visa may be appropriate is where the use of internet dating sites has become more prevalent over recent years. As it is now often quite common for couples to meet online and enter into a genuine relationship, the Prospective Marriage visa may be a viable option for many couples.

Australia to rebuild overseas student market
The Abbott government is on track to re-activating the overseas student market by streamlining Australian student visas and introducing post-study work visas.

In retrospect, the previous Gillard government introduced higher financial requirements in student visas that lowered the turnout of international students in 2009 and 2010. This decision of the previous government resulted in the loss of about AU$2.4 billion from the visa subclass revenue. By the end of the same period, about 150,000 international students had also been slashed from the overall turnout.
