Australia’s scenic lakes, rivers and lagoons, labyrinth of interconnecting billabongs, mazes of calm waterways, as well as its furious rapids and gorges, have made the country a perfectly ideal setting to kayak.
Adventure and fun is what kayaking in and around Australia is all about.
Experience the excitement and adventure as one ventures through the furious rapids of the wild Franklin River or the Avon River from Northam, where the professionals tackle the challenging Multiplex Avon Descent each August.
Kayak off St Kilda Beach in Melbourne or alongside dolphins on the Mornington Peninsula or even with shipwrecks and mangroves in Port River, just 15 minutes from Adelaide’s centre.
Learn to sea kayak off Jervis Bay or from Anglesea and Apollo Bay along the Great Ocean Road or even under Sydney’s Harbour Bridge.
In the Grampians, glide through the waters of Lake Bellfield, Lake Fyans or Lake Wartook and experience the calm and serenity of the surrounding picturesque milieu.
From Cairns, paddle off from the more than 45 rapids on the Tully River or just float on your kayak down the Barron River in Barron Gorge National Park.
Do a gentle kayaking from Mission Beach to Dunk Island and other rainforest-covered islands on the Great Barrier Reef as one views the natural calming sceneries that surround the area.
Whitewater raft down the wild North Johnstone River or the Nymboida River or in the Barrington Tops National Park.
Coast through Hobart’s waters at twilight or glide from Bairnsdale along the Mitchell River to Gippsland Lakes as you enjoy the sounds and lights that pervade the area.
Glide through Murchison River, in Kalbarri National Park in the north, and get past eagles, songbirds, and wetland waders that walk on its rocky banks.
Take on a kayaking adventure from Loch Luna past birds and Aboriginal heritage sites to Chowilla’s labyrinth of interconnecting billabongs or past ancient cliffs, beaches, and sand dunes in Coffin Bay National Park.
Do a kayaking day trip through the Katherine River past paperbark and pandanus forest and through the dramatic sandstone walls of Katherine Gorge or through all of the eight interconnecting gorges on an overnight trek.
There’s nothing like kayaking around and across Australia if one wishes to see and experience the wild diversity of birds, iridescent butterflies, crocodiles and fish, as well as the rainforest-covered islands, wetlands and interconnecting billabongs and gorges.
So if one wishes to go kayaking in Australia, do get a tourist visa to Australia which is also called a visitor visa to Australia.
The tourist visas to Australia are a type of travel visas to Australia that allow people to enter Australia for a visit, a holiday, or for sightseeing and for recreational purposes. This type of Australia visitor visa allows its holders to stay in Australia for up to 3 months on each arrival within 12 months from the date the visa was granted. However, an Australia visiting visa does not allow its holder to work in any capacity.
So if you want to go kayaking Down Under, this tourist visa in Australia is the right visa for you.

As more and more of Australia’s tourism sector’s workforce take advantage of the financial opportunity brought about by the booming resource and mining industry, Australia’s Tourism industry has found itself in deep waters with its own labor shortage.
Australia’s tourism sector is now finding itself in search of overseas guest workers on special travel visas Australia in order to fill its labor shortage of more than 35,000 jobs. With a significant number of its staff recently changing jobs and moving into the booming mining sector with its offers of higher wages, according to Tourism Australia’s Managing Director Andrew McEvoy, the Australian tourism industry has suggested a move of granting special travel visas to Australia for overseas guest workers in order to fill the resulting labor shortages.
More than 35,000 job vacancies in Australia’s Tourism sector are in the entry level jobs. This is the flipside of the booming mining sector as these entry level employees are taking advantage of the higher compensation rate offered by the booming mining sector as compared to the wages they are currently having now.
Australia is famous as a world-class destination, known for its breathtaking scenic beauty, adventuresome Outback, and charming and vibrant cities. However, the once famous tourist’s destination has now taken a back seat as the multi-billion dollar Tourism industry has not taken advantage of this and has not taken initiatives to attract more tourists to Australia. Recently, Australia’s Tourism industry has been under criticism for its inferior levels of service, infrastructure and experiences as compared with other popular tourist destinations.
According to Federal Shadow Tourism Minister Bob Baldwin, the government should have made better efforts in providing longer term plans to pre-empt challenges that Australia’s growing tourism industry is and might be facing. Rather than considering initiatives that would attract inbound tourists from Russia, China and India to Australia, the Labor Government has instead cannibalized the tourism sector’s workforce and sent them to work as truck drivers in remote mining communities. Now, a year and a half later, the Government is conceding a tourism labor market problem of its own creation, with its revelation of the plans for Australia’s first guest worker scheme.
Supported by the Tourism Minister, the new policy is expected to be voted by the cabinet this year. If approved, foreign workers on special visas for Australia would then be allowed to enter Australia for a specific job or employment within a designated industry. The scheme is aimed to plug the manpower gap in Australia’s tourism industry as the high wages offered by the mining industries have lured away its workforce, making it difficult for the tourism industry, particularly those in regional areas, to fill positions.
Moreover, the buoyant Aussie dollar and high labor costs have also negatively affected the tourism sector.
The buoyant Australian dollar has lured locals to vacation overseas and has discouraged foreigners on tourist visas to Australia from visiting or spending generously while travelling. The high labor costs have resulted in the Australian tourism’s losing its competitiveness, making it more difficult to attract foreign investment into Australia which is required to build new hotels, resorts and improve existing accommodation and attractions.
According to the recently released Australian Bureau of Statistics figures, there is a drop of 9% to 432,200 in the number of international visitors on Australia visitors visa in September while there was an increase of 8.9% to 790,600 in the number of Australians heading overseas.
The once famous tourist destination is quite simply losing its luster as the gap between the number of international visitors on tourist visa to Australia and Australians heading overseas has reached record heights.

The peak industry body representing Australia’s $23 billion tourism export sector, the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC), last week has called for the Australian federal government to make use of the Tax and Future Jobs Forums in Canberra to give a boost on the nation’s struggling tourism industry by making changes to its working holiday Australia visa.
Australia is currently having a reciprocal working holiday visa programs with a number of arrangement countries. All countries have the same basic requirements.
Australia’s Working Holiday Program establishes arrangements to encourage cultural exchange and closer ties between arrangement countries, by allowing young people to have an extended holiday, and supplement their funds with short-term employment.
Under the Working Holiday Program, people from arrangement countries can avail of any of the working holiday tourist visas to Australia so they can go on a holiday on Australia while having the option to supplement their holiday funds with short-term employment as they travel across regional Australia.
Moreover, aside from enhancing the cultural and social development of young people, the Working Holiday Program also promotes mutual understanding between Australia and other nations and is an important part of the tourism industry.
Furthermore, the Working Holiday program also helps Australian regional employers to meet short-term employment needs by encouraging working tourist visa Australia holders to seek short-term and casual work in specified industries in regional Australia.
Likewise, the reciprocal nature of the program provides opportunities for young Australians to undertake working holidays overseas with arrangement countries.
According to the peak tourism export body, now is the time for the Australian federal government to make reforms that will move the Australian economy onto a new and much better direction.
ATEC has called on the federal government to help in the reviving of the tourism industry by taking advantage of the benefits of the booming mining industry and making changes that will propel the economy onto a new course.
According to Felicia Mariani, the ATEC managing director, with the national economy on the rise propelled by the mining boom, it is now crucial that the federal government find ways and means that can support other industries, such as tourism, in order to achieve the maximum advantage from Australia’s overall strength as well as bring out new opportunities for all.
Ms. Mariani stated that a reform should be done on the working Australian holiday visas that would allow for an extended stay of an extra year for people who are working in a regional tourism area.
Moreover, ATEC is also calling the federal government to increase the age limit requirement and allow young people to apply for the visa a second time.
Ms. Mariani explained that if the Australian tourism industry wants to take advantage of the growth opportunities over the next 10 years, particularly from Asia, it is crucial that Australia will be able to source a skilled workforce.
Ms. Mariani further stated that the right labor force is always needed by both tourism and hospitality industry in order for them to provide the quality of service and experience demanded and expected by an international traveler, but regional operators in particular have always struggled to find enough workers.
According to a report by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship in 2009, the report revealed that Australians were reluctant to make a move to regional areas in order to meet the short-term labor needs of the tourism industry and working holiday makers had been providing an important workforce for a significant number of regional operators.

If you do, then apply visa to Australia online, particularly the ETA Australia Visa.
Available online 24 hours a day seven days a week, the Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is type of visas for Australia which is an electronically stored authority for travel to Australia for short-term visits or business entry.
Equivalent to a visa, with the ETA, there is no stamp or label in your passport and there is no need for you to visit an Australian diplomatic office to submit visas to Australia application.

All it needs is for ETA applicants to be:

outside Australia when lodging the online Australian visa form

a passport holder of an ETA eligible country ( check this link http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/tourist/976/eligibility.htm or http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/business/956-977/eligibility.htm)

have a current valid passport

have a valid credit card (American Express, Diners Club, JCB, MasterCard, or Visa)

The ETA is issued electronically by a computer system operated for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) of Australia. ETA applicants can apply via:

internet or online via the DIAC website or online Australian visa and immigration providers like National Visas

travel agents or airlines

visa specialist service providers around the world

The ETA Australia visa online holder is allowed to travel to Australia for tourism or to visit friends or relatives or for business purposes for up to a maximum length of 3 months as required within the validity period which is 12 months from the date of issue.
The ETA system is accessible by more than 300,000 travel agents worldwide, more than 75 airlines and through the Internet so most ETAs are issued immediately by computer links between the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, travel agents, airlines and specialist service providers around the world and thus approval is granted in most cases in less than 30 seconds. However, in a small number of cases where ETA cannot be approved immediately, some additional processing is required and there is a need to check back in 12 hours to confirm whether application has been successful.
Take note that an ETA is linked to the passport number that is used in an ETA application and the holder must use the same passport to travel to Australia.
The ETA is Australia’s world’s most electronically sophisticated immigration entry system for visitors. With this entry system, the instant approval of the visa — brought by the use of cutting edge technology — has made ETA an in demand visa for visitors to Australia.

Under the Working Holiday Program, both countries — Australia and Japan — have reciprocal agreements that will allow young citizens of one country to enter the other primarily for a holiday over an extended period and to engage in short term or partial employment as an incidental aspect of their trip in order to supplement their travel funds. The Working Holiday Australia Visa will allow Japanese citizens to experience living in Australia, without undergoing the usual costly expenses of finding work sponsorship in advance, or going on expensive university exchange programmes.
Currently, Japan has working holiday agreements with 11 countries and territories, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Republic of Korea, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Ireland and Denmark, and for residents of Taiwan and Hong Kong while Australia is in reciprocal agreements with 27 countries.

Ranging from widely diverse and ecologically breathtaking natural wonders of the world, the Great Barrier Reef, literally hundreds of picturesque tropical islands, some of the world’s most beautiful sun-soaked, golden beaches to the mystical rugged Outback, red desert and the world’s greatest monolith, the iconic Ayers Rock, as well as the charming cosmopolitan cities, it is no wonder that Australia has become one of the world’s ideal tourist vacation getaways.

In an effort to hook British backpackers and Italian radio listeners to holiday in Australia, Tourism Australia and Tourism Queensland has recently launched a new tourism campaign to promote one of the tourist visas to Australia, the Working Holiday Visa.
Currently circulating through their UK Facebook page is the new video series from Tourism Australia which is a series of 30 one-minute videos.
In one of the 30 one-minute video series from Tourism Australia, Dutch backpacker Marloes Odenkirchen is promoting Fraser Island.
The 30 one-minute video series are timed to coincide with British school tests in order to target more than 230,000 school leavers who probably won’t get their desired grades and enticed them to apply for a visitor visa to Australia and holiday in Australia.
Fraser Island is well-known for its world’s largest sand island stretching around 120km from North to South and 15km from East to West, covering a total of 160,000 hectares as well as for its area of remarkable natural beauty.
Listed as a World Heritage Area in 1992, Fraser Island is internationally known for its internationally significant natural features such as its evolving parabolic dunes, beautiful sub-tropical rainforest, over 100 freshwater lakes which is said to be the second highest concentration of lakes in Australia, colored sands, unique landscapes and its widely diverse range of birds, reptiles and amphibians as well as its unique and diverse flora, where it is said that it is the only place on Earth where tall rainforest grows in sand.
With the 30 one-minute video series, Tourism Australia is hoping to attract more young people to get a tourist visa to Australia in order to holiday in Australia, according to Andrew McEvoy, Tourism Australia’s managing director.
Mr. McEnvoy explained that these young travelers can often become lifelong promoters where they can have the chance to convince friends and family of all ages to holiday in Australia and likewise a possibility of returning themselves later in life.
Likewise, Mr. Envoy expounded that according to research, many of these visitors are backpackers who spend most of their time travelling and have explored more of Australia than any other travelers.
By using Odenkirchen in promoting Fraser Island, other backpackers might be enticed to apply for a tourist visa in Australia and go for a holiday visit touring Australia.
The 30 one-minute video series also features croc handlers, shark swimmers, surf photographers, a bungee jumper, street artists and others from across Australia.
Familiarization Tour
Meanwhile, Tourism Queensland is currently hosting an Italian radio presenter, Rai Radio presenter Massimiliano Civili, on a familiarization tour of Fraser and Lady Elliot Island.
Minister for Tourism Jan Jarrat said in the latest Tourism Queensland newsletter, Civili’s visit is expected to increase positive media coverage and create public awareness for the Fraser Coast in locations across Europe.
Civili is said to have more than 40,000 listeners.
The 30 one-minute video series can be viewed on their Facebook, Twitter and YouTube feeds.

On 23 May, the 100,000th visa for the 2010-2011 program year was issued.
For the first time ever, the Australian High Commission in New Delhi was able to reach the 100,000 quota for its visitor and temporary entry visas in a program year.

The figure includes 19 different types of travel visas Australia, which includes tourist visas to Australia and business visas

The 100,100th visitor visa to Australia milestone reflects the rapidly growing tourism and business relationship between India and Australia.

Cause of Growth

Peter Varghese, Australia’s High Commissioner to India, expounded that the reaching of the one hundred thousand visitor visas demonstrates the rapid and continuous growth of the bilateral relationship between Australia and India.
As the Australian government recognized the implications of India’s rise for Australia’s national interests, it has undertaken a move that would place India firmly in the front rank of Australia’s international partnerships.
Commissioner Varghese added that an increasing number is travelling to Australia for business, tourism, and to study at our universities; thus, more Indians are now applying for tourist visa to Australia as well as other travel visa Australia.
With the growing number of Indian travelers reconnecting with family members in Australia, an increase in the Australia visiting visa rate was noticed.
The visitor visa application rate has recorded a rise of 17 percent this year and out of this, over 50% of visitor visa applicants were from Indian permanent residents’ family members or Australian citizens of Indian origin.
A rise of 15 percent was seen on the business short stay visa application rate this year. This growth will continue to increase as India-Australia economic and trade relations also grow.
India and Australia’s two way trades have been escalating at about 20 percent twelve monthly for the past five years.
A record high of approximately A$22 billion was being showcased associated with the two-way trade in the year 2010. This positive situation was motivated by the strong interrelation of reciprocity between the two economies.
Australia and India has agreed to launch negotiations towards a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (or FTA) last May 12 in response to the ongoing stable and growing reciprocal relationship between the two countries.
Both India and Australia have demonstrated several commonalities, which serve as a groundwork for closer cooperation and multifaceted interaction between the two countries.
Australia and India are rapidly becoming more important to each other as India is showing healthy signs of the growing partnership between the two countries and its people.

Nationalvisas.com.au is Australia’s leading provider of immigration services. The provide that can help determine if you are eligible for immigration to Australia. They Australia’s most experienced Australian visa and Australian immigration experts. According to Collins English Dictionary – Complete and Unabridged edition, a visa is an endorsement in a passport or similar document, signifying that the document is in order and permitting its bearer to travel into or through the country of the government issuing it.
So if you want to travel to Australia, you have to get visas to Australia.
Furthermore, usually, you get a visa before you leave home and travel abroad, by applying to any embassies of your destination countries that require them; in this case you have to get an Australian visa form from the Australian embassy in your country. And for the ignorant traveler who doesn’t know about this, it can be a real problem and can cause a lot of confusion when they take that dream trip. Since forgetting about getting a visa can really cause havoc to your travel plans at the worst possible instant, that is, when you are actually arriving at your dream destination.
So what is the importance of a visa?
A visa is very important to both the host country and the traveler. Travelers all over the world need a visa to enter and visit a specific foreign country. Though some nations grant a visa free treatment to some countries; however, this is not true for everyone. Most nations will not allow a foreign citizen to enter its borders without permission to enter. Without a visa, most of these travelers would have never made it to their destination. One of these countries that requires visa is Australia.
Furthermore, aside from needing visa, e.g. visa from Australia in order to gain entry to another country, the other reason why a country needs a visa to enter are as follows:
A visa is needed for Immigration Control. Because of concerns like terrorism, overpopulation, and economics, it is crucial for any country to monitor who enters their country. A visa enables the national government to control and monitor how many foreign visitors can enter, how long they are permitted to stay, and the activities they are allowed to participate in like vacation and work.
Another is Identity Verification. During the applicant’s visa application process, the host country’s consular and immigration departments have the time to verify the identity of the traveler prior to his arrival to their country. The traveler’s criminal, economic, and medical backgrounds are typically investigated.
A visa also allows the host country to verify if the applicant possesses unique skills not found among their own population so they can determine if the applicant is fit to take the job.
Lastly, a visa is important to decide who qualifies to permanently reside within their borders. It also allows a host country’s immigration department to decide when a citizen can be granted a permanent residency status.
