Western Australia – More Opportunities is Waiting for Everyone
January 26, 2012 – Interested in a working visa for Australia? Great news!
Western Australia energy sector is calling out for more skilled workers.
According to Woodside Petroleum CEO Peter Coleman, if Australia is to keep pace with the growing Asian demand for resources, more skilled workers must go west, and rules for skilled migrants need to be relaxed.
Coleman stated in the Commonwealth Business Forum that because of the soaring demand for minerals and energy, in particular LNG, a competition for skilled labor was a major challenge for Western Australia. If WA is to meet the ever growing demand for resources and energy, a substantial part of Australia’s skilled workforce needs to move west.
Moreover, Coleman also indicated that the government should look at relaxing rules for skilled migrant workers applying for working Australia visa. This is to ensure that skilled labor needs could be met as future projects came on line.
