Western Australia calling for more immigrants

Australia March 31, 2011 – Western Australia is now seeking for new skilled workers from abroad to fill the labor shortages happening in the state. This would be an opportunity for people who want to find work in Australia.
They expect to offer 240,000 new jobs. It has been noted that a budget of AUD $225 million in resources and infrastructure projects are being started recently. It is estimated that Western Australia will be having a shortage of 150,000 workers.

Training and Workforce Development Minister Peter Collier said that this plays as a challenge for the government, industry, and the community. Since the demand for skilled workers increased; thus, it gives a lot of pressure on the different sectors of the economy.

In order to fill the demand for skilled workers, the Western Australian Skilled Migration Strategy has made some efforts to bring in immigrants from abroad. It includes different strategies for people to fulfill the state requirements when applying to join the workforce in Australia.

The minister also pointed out that they need to train locals for skilled work in order to answer the demand for skilled workers.

Collier admitted that having the local workforce will not be enough to suffice the demand. Skilled workers from abroad are still needed to fill the gap.

He added that they should try other new options by not just letting the locals participate alone but also attract and lure foreign skilled workers to work in Australia.

State-sponsored skilled migration is one of the ways to lure workers to apply instantly. If someone who will qualify wants to live and work in Australia, then they can be given the honor to be a permanent resident in Australia. Thus, all you have to do is inquire the Australian immigration regarding this issue and be ready to apply for an Australian skilled visa. It will be an easy way to make your way of living more meaningful.
