Visa program to increase immigrants in Australia
Australia January 20, 2010 – The recent summary reports on the subclass 457 business (long stay) visa program expose the statistics made by the Department of Immigration and Citizenships. Report stated that more than 40 % less than last year in regards with the visa applications and grants, the said report is 457.
These visa applications has been granted up to 64% (up from 55%). Senator Chris Evans considers that alterations to the temporary skilled migration method are productively addressing some of Australia’s skill shortages at the same time as defending local jobs. This 457 visa applications had 23% for the health care and social assistance division nomination arrangements. 16% (up from 9%) have been in association with an Australian, state/territory or local Government sponsor. 26% of 457 visas decided were to UK nationals, followed by 14% to Indian nationals and 8% to US nationals; 35% of 457 visas granted were to those with positions in NSW, followed by 24% in Victoria.
Migration Legislation Amendment (Worker Protection) Act 2009 in September 2009 is the reason of this visa applications turned down. From July 2009 this believed was started.
