The changes on UK Immigration Tier 1 Visa Cap

July 5, 2010 – According to the latest news stated that there have been changes regarding the UK Immigration Tier 1 Visa Cap. This indeed confirmed by the UK Immigration that the interim limit on Tier 1 (General) visas will start on 19 July 2010 (previously it was thought to be 16 July 2010). The permanent limit on Tier 1 (General) applications under the points based system will start in April 2011. They stated and announced for those who are interested on applying for the Tier 1 that they must think about and apply before July 19, 2010.

Including on the changes announced that there will be a raise from 95 to 100 points from 19 July 2010 for a lot of applicants. This will affect the system as the qualified to apply for Tier 1 (General) visa from 19 July 2010 might be lessened.

In accordance there will be a monthly interim limit on Tier 1 (General) visas from 19 July 2010. However if you are by now in the UK under the Tier 1 (General) visa and are submitting for an application for an expansion or you are in the UK under a different immigration type and desire to switch to Tier 1 (General) you will not move toward under the interim limit.
