Surf Photographer To Take an Australian Road Trip
March 7, 2013 – Sometimes, people get so engrossed with wanting to take a tour abroad that they miss out on a lot of things that their home countries can offer. Despite the many who want to have a tourist visitor visa Australia, many Australians are not noticing how much there is to see in the country. Such is the realization of surf photographer, Aquabumps, which was started by Eugene Tan in 1999. He wants Australians to explore what is in their own backyard.
Because of this, Tan is going to have an Australian road trip from Bondi to the Gold Coast where the Land Rover Quicksilver Pro event will be held at Snapper Rocks. Along the way, he will be taking shots of iconic surf moments.
The event, which is a 12-day event, is expected to bring in about 80,000 spectators coming from within and outside Australia. Many of these overseas visitors will be on a tourist visitor visa Australia.
Speaking about Australia’s beauty, he says “Australia is so beautiful, I love the diversity from Sydney to the Gold Coast, there’s so much plant life and a huge coastline. You can find peace and quiet easily and the colour is great. We have beautiful headlands. I like to put them in the backdrop of my photos to give them some perspective.”
He also said that Byron Bay is among the highlights of his trip saying that it is a pretty spectacular place where the whole vibe, warmth, long waves, and warm water excite him.
Tan will not be alone in his road trip as he will be with a group of surfers. They will stop along various beaches like Seals Rocks, Foster, Crescent Head, and Port Macquarie. Since he will be filming his travel, you can see his works through his Facebook page which has more than 74,000 likes.
Talking about his passion, Tan says “I’m addicted to shooting sunrises, the early light is the best in Sydney. I’ve been getting up to shoot the sunrise every day for 14 years. You never master it, it’s like golf.”
