Student Visas – Australia Suspends 200 Visa Agents

  • Sharebar

Australia, October 7, 2009 – Almost 200 immigration agents from lodging student visa applications has been suspended by the Australian Government. It is been said that the suspensions have been issued due to confirmation of fraud, or poor visa approval rates.

Student visa regulations have been revised forcing international students to return to their home-country before applying for a work visa to Australia.

The suspensions come as a result of evidence that many immigration agents & their clients were abusing the Australian student visa program to gain permanent residency to Australia.

Of the 200 agents suspended, 51 (approximately 25%) were based in India. There are however approximately 500 agents still practicing around the world who may not meet the Governments expectations.
