State Migration Plans Delayed

Sept 6, 2010 Victoria, AU – Recalling from the month of July when the state of Victoria had announced that it would not release its State Migration Plans until after the 1st of August. State Migration Plans were supposed to be updated and released following the new Skilled Occupation List was even promoted last July. By stopping of State Migration Plans since Labor has called the Australian Election in August, this has lead to such confusion from the migrants.

In each state, they have their own critical skills lists that usually differ from what each state have from their SOL, and thus they use the said occupations on their lists to draw up a migration plans for people who are interested to migrate to the State. There are plans that are however, needed to be attended in terms of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship before it should be introduced to the public.

Following up on this the State Migration Plans would have been drafted already however since the politics has already making a move on this, the government is now taking control. And by this, the decisions will for the SMP will not be made until the new government has sworn in and has taken full control.

In particular, the state of Victoria have announced that their State Migration Plan will not be released any earlier than October, and as expected the rest of the states in the region will be following suit. And yet this has making a bit more noise in the release, and people has been asking why it would take so long if a government will soon sworn in, in the next or following weeks.

As per assumption, since DIAC are not denying the rumours that Senator Chris Evans, Minister for Immigration, will be leaving his post, regardless of which government will get in. It only means that there will be a new Minister to watch out for. And if the government have had to negotiate deals with independents sympathetic to migration, then immigration policies may have to be reviewed.
And this would implicate a long and frustrating wait for migrants that do not have occupation from the SOL and for those who are hoping to be able to move to Australia with an SMP.
