Sponsorship application in South Australia
October 21, 2010 – South Australia will be accepting new applicants for sponsorship to live and work in the South of Australia. With the new Sponsorship Occupation list, the South Australian Government will be welcoming more skilled applicants to join their work force.
Certain requirements have to be met by applicants and these include having their occupation on the skilled sponsorship list. The applicant’s career specialization should be in the list to ensure that there will be an available job for the certain skill. An applicant must also meet the requirements set by the Government of Australia, including the health and police checks. This is a guarantee that the applicant is capable of working and fulfilling the demands of a job. The police checks are also vital to establish that the applicant will not have any conflict with the Government’s law. Lastly, the applicant must be willing to live and work in South Australia.
Those who have already submitted an application for a job in Australia and have found that their occupation is included on the new application list, South Australia is advising them not to re-apply anymore at this stage. They also warned that the current changes are not yet final and changes are bound to be made. Applicants will be informed should these changes happen.
The South Australian Government stated that this is an ‘interim measure’ and that they recognize that the criteria they have set may not provide a pathway for every skilled migrants like the international students. Due to this, they assure that consideration will be given so as to address these gaps after the full SSML is released.
