Qantas’ New Frequent Flyer Point Scheme
September 6, 2011 – Good news for Australian visa holders for people planning migration to Australia!
Australia’s flag carrier, Qantas Airways Limited, has just recently announced that it has made new changes to its Qantas Frequent Flyer Scheme, with further changes in the pipeline.
Optus, Australia’s second largest telecommunications company and Australian leader in mobile phones, broadband & home phones, delivering cutting-edge networks & entertainment services, in partnership with Qantas, will now allow its personal customers to earn two Qantas Frequent Flyer points for every dollar spent on most Optus personal services.
The latest Qantas Frequent Flyer Scheme will award two points to Optus customers who spent at least one Australian dollar on Optus services which later on they can redeem at the Qantas online frequent flyer store against flights, merchandise, seat upgrades and a selection of experiences.
The deal between Optus and Qantas was announced in May, but it was still subject to the signing of a definitive agreement between the two companies. The deal was aim to reward small and medium-sized business customers who hold Qantas Frequent Flyer points.
In the meantime, two Qantas Frequent Flyer points could be earned by Optus small and medium business customers or their nominees for every dollar they spent on eligible SMB services until 31 December 2011 after which they will earn one point per dollar spent.
To earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points from Optus Rewards, existing Qantas Frequent Flyer members who are also Optus customers must first link their Optus Rewards membership to their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership by simply registering for the program at the Optus Rewards website (www.optus.com.au/points), once registered you can start earning points.
Optus customers who are not yet Qantas Frequent Flyer members will have the usual joining fee of $82.50 waived when they sign-up to the program through Optus Rewards.
So to Optus customers, who are planning for immigration to Australia and have been granted Australian visas, register yourselves for Qantas Frequent Flyer to start earning points!
