October 20, 2011 – PTE Academic Scores will soon be accepted by the Australian Government for application for Australian visa.
5 November 2011
The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has recently announced that it will soon be accepting Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic scores submitted with Australian visa form for students’ applications, following their formal approval of the test in May of this year.
PTE Academic scores will soon be accepted as early as the 5th of November 2011.

Overseas students applying for student visa Australia are required by DIAC as part of the Australian visa requirements for students to attain at least the minimum Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic scores that range between 29 and 50 at Assessment Levels 3 and 4, depending on their nationality, their education sector and the terms of their study in Australia.
The PTE Academic has already been accepted by over 150 institutions in Australia which ask for proof of English language proficiency as part of their admissions criteria for international students.
Accepted by over 2,800 academic programmers worldwide, the test is already approved by a number of government agencies including the UK Border Agency, which accepts the test for Tiers 1, 2 and 4 (student) visa applications.
According to Fraser Cargill, the Vice President Government Relations for Pearson Asia Pacific, PTE Academic is the fastest test in the market, returning scores typically within five business days. This had made the test a popular choice among student visa applicants with tight deadlines to meet.
With PTE Academic scores being accepted by DIAC as part of their student visas for Australia requirements, leading learning company Pearson is delighted to be able to offer the assurance with confidence to DIAC and to universities in Australia that the PTE Academic is the most reliable and secure test in the market.
Once DIAC begins to accept PTE Academic scores as part of their student visas Australian requirements, it is expected that demand for them will increase even further.
Launched in late 2009 by Pearson, PTE Academic is recognized by renowned colleges, universities, training providers and professional associations across the English-speaking world.
