July 8, 2011 – The Department of Immigration and Citizenship has recently announced the expansion of the electronic tourist visa program to the Maldives and Croatia.
Starting July 1, citizens of Croatia and the Maldives can now apply electronically for their tourist visas to Australia via the internet.
The Australian electronic tourist visa program enables visa applicants from eligible countries the added option to apply online.
Croatians can now use the online fast, secure and convenient tourist visa to Australia application process in applying for an electronic tourist visa known as e676.

Previously, there were only 52 countries all over the world which are eligible for this Australian electronic tourist visa program. With the addition of Maldives and Croatia, the two countries have made the total number up to 54.
With online visa application, applicants are given the ability to check the progress of their application electronically.
Likewise, an online application does not require a visa label to be placed in a passport.
The online travel visas to Australia are linked to the passport number that was used in the travel visa Australia application. Therefore, it is required to use the same passport to travel to Australia as well as ensure that the passport being used is valid for the period of stay you are applying for.
In case that a new passport has been obtained prior to traveling to Australia, the Hobart Global Processing Centre must be contacted and advised of the new passport number before traveling to Australia. Otherwise, significant delays will be experienced at the airport as well as one could be denied permission to board the plane.
The client will receive a notification that provides details of the visa while airlines are able to confirm the visa entitlements through the Advanced Passenger Processing System once the online tourist visa in Australia is granted.
Online travel visas Australia applicants may also have the option to print a copy of their visa approval notification email so that they can carry it with them while travelling to Australia.
