National Party leader supports immigration to Australia
October 21, 2010 Australia – Immigration is a factor that helps a country grow, flourish, and evolve. Immigrating people help in shaping the country. In a country like Australia where the population growth is declining, there is a possibility for its labour market to be less competitive. With the current boom in their job market, they are now facing shortage in skilled workers to supply the demands.
Peter Ryan, Victorian leader of the National Party stated that immigration is crucial for the survival of Victoria’s rural communities. As such, it should be encouraged.
Mr. Ryan has cited the contributions of the immigrants in terms of the country’s regional growth. He fears that if the immigration is to come to a halt, it may have repercussions to the regional communities, indicating that it may face the peril of ‘decaying’. He encourages the regional development not to avoid the immigration debate and urges them to participate actively as the flow of immigrants into their country is important.
He also stated that the country has improved through the contributions that they have received and are still receiving from those people who have come to live in the country. These people form other nations are very good contributors in their agricultural and horticultural areas.
With the coming of the state elections to be held in Victoria this November, both the major political parties have declared their plans of investing and expanding rural Victora. This is to encourage the business and population growth in the coming years.
Not only is Australia to benefit from these immigration programs but the immigrants as well. A stable job awaits them and a chance for a better lifestyle is also offered to those who are skilled to join the country’s work force.
With Australia’s encouragement for more immigrants to come to their country, more and more people are finding hope to save themselves from the recession that continues to assault the world.
