Australia, May 9, 2011 – As the business owners clamored for an increase in Australian immigration of skilled workers, business group are now also urging Australia to allow more skilled immigration.

Australian Immigration is now again accepting immigration to Australia applications with the Australian mining sector welcoming the plans of an increase in Australian skilled migration.

Easier Australian student visa requirements are now being implemented for Indian students as Australia opens up its training system to Indian students.

As the the Australian government reduced its visa assessment levels for students, it has also reduced India’s visa assessment levels for students for Indian students make up a large percentage of Australia’s foreign student population.
Australian and Indian officials together with Australian educational institutions and training organizations are working together to open up the country’s training system to Indian students.

Under the plan, tens of thousands of Indians would then undergo training to work in both countries, with up to 30,000 Australia-trained Indians being expected to be recruited to work in Australia.

The plan came about after India realized that it needs about a million skilled workers to help develop its own mining industry, so India encouraged the initiative.

As Australia’s economy breaks out and its demand for resources increases, Australia is now also experiencing a lack for workers which have also said to have brought about the plan.

According to an Australia’s senior trade official in India, Peter Linford, the skills training program will surely provide a chance for huge opportunities for the education sector as well for the mining industry.

In the Australian Financial Review, Mr. Linford stated that the scheme could become a model for others to follow in industries in other countries.

After being trained under Australian standards, Indians would then be employed on the same conditions as Australians under their existing immigration schemes.
