Australia February 21, 2011 – Randall Marketing has signed by the family owned India based Destination Management Company (DMC). It was signed to oversee its Australian and New Zealand representation and was announced at AIME few days ago. The said company is representing at AIME for the fourth consecutive year with its full service DMC covers India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Tibet.

The decision to find representation for Australia was primarily to improve its FIT and small group markets said by the Managing Director, Rajeev Kohli. He also added that the incentive travel would also be pushed in connection of this representation.

Randall Marketing has been appointed in a strategic bid to capture more business in Australia. This is due to the Australian market which has been previously been ignored as a source market. Mr Kohl also told in e-Travel Blackboard that Australia should be ignored as a source of market as the potential for growth is in this country.
Australians are believed by Mr Kohli to be in a position financially to travel to India. It is a country where other markets such as the US still struggle to bounce back.

On the other hand, Australia’s majority of tourists are coming from Asia Pacific followed by Europe and North America. Its largest source market came from New Zealand while China and Japan are growing steadily. The Ministry of Tourism of Australia has flagged China as the fastest growing market of the country although inbound tourism is under some threat due to souring diplomatic relations between Australia and China.

New Zealand dominates the Aussie market in terms of outbound tourism. It is reported that the outbound tourism numbers to the country nearly doubled between 2001 and 2008. Australians are forecast to visit New Zealand in 2014. The remaining destinations in the top 10 visited by Australian tourists are all in the Pacific Region.
