Hainan Tourism First Official Visit to Australia

Australia July 11, 2011 – As the 2011 Hainan Travel Convention is set to be held this July 12 at Sydney’s Marriott Hotel and on July 13 at the Hilton in Melbourne, Australians are preparing to meet the Hainan Tourism delegation.

The 2 state capitals, Sydney and Melbourne are getting ready to welcome the arrival of the delegates from the Hainan Tourism Development Commission.

The delegates from the Hainan Tourism Development Commission are set to arrive in Australia in order to make their first official visit to Australia in July this year for the July 12 and 13 2011 Hainan Travel Convention in Sydney and Melbourne.

The 2011 Hainan Travel Convention will be hosted by the Hainan International Tourism Alliance (HITA) and is aimed to celebrate Hainan’s growth as a top international tourist destination.

With this upcoming convention, travel visa to Australia applicants in the past month has surely increased as delegates and invited guests prepare to attend the convention.

The convention will be attended by industry professionals, the CEO of the Hainan Tourism Development Commission, Mr. Hu Yue Ming, and other tourism delegates from Hainan’s tourism capital, Sanya.

According to Mr. Hu, a sharp increase in tourist numbers in Hainan has already been seen and as Sanya and Hainan is going to be introduced to Australia and to the rest of the world, they are excited and are preparing for the number of tourists to skyrocket in the next few years.

Mr. Hu’s first official visit marks a huge step in Hainan’s relations with Australia in a year and is set to be one of the biggest for the island’s development.

According to the Director of HITA, Michael Lee, Hainan Tourism officials’ visit to Australia will provide a chance for the Australian tourism industry to learn more about development and investment opportunities in Hainan as well as strengthen ties in tourism between the two countries.

As the ties between Hainan and Australia are strengthened, many people from Hainan would also be expected to apply for visas to travel to Australia.

During the 2011 Hainan Travel Convention, the overall picture about the tourism development on Hainan from luxury accommodation to MICE facilities will be introduced to the Australian travel industry as well as the island’s status as one of the last culturally authentic tropical island destinations will also be celebrated. This is in conjunction with Hainan’s clean and green vision to become a top international ecotourism hotspot.

Hainan, given the nickname ‘the Hawaii of the Far East’, is the only tropical island province in China as well as the country’s southernmost point, located in the South China Sea.

As part of the Chinese government’s ten-year plan to make the island one of the world`s top international tourist destinations by 2020, Hainan has been in the spotlight in recent years.
