March 15, 2011 – After several years of studying, it is always in the back of the minds of graduating students to have time to relax and enjoy before trying to face reality. Students still want to have a time off before trying to start a career or before trying to find a job. Some students already have jobs waiting for them. Some others may have businesses handed down by their parents. But despite these obligations and responsibilities that wait, every student is eager to take a break. A break to know one’s inclination and one’s ideal life that they want to have in the future. This break will help them realize what they would want to do and achieve in their life. Thus, for some students, they would prefer to enjoy a gap year before they will embrace all their responsibilities.
This gap year would allow these recently graduated students to choose a little wiser with the path they are taking in terms of their career. This allows them to enjoy and rejuvenate and end up having a greater urge to work.
In line with this, Australia offers Work and Holiday visa program. This visa has been availed by most foreign students who would want to relax. As reported by the Australia’s Department of Immigration and Customs (DIAC), the Work and Holiday Visa grants to Australia increased by 5 percent from 2009-2010.
These Australian visas are really useful for young Canadians looking for adventure. This allows Canadian students and recent graduates with ages ranging from 18 to 30 to have the opportunity to work, travel, and study in Australia for a maximum of 12 months.
A student can apply for just a travel visa to Australia or an ETA Australia visa. But if one wants to work in Australia, then he/ she will have to apply for a working holiday visa where Canadian citizens can work and live in Australia for 12 months the most. Or he can choose to pursue any job and study for four months in Australia.
Job options are flooding from bartending to scuba instructing. Visa holders can go in and out of the country.
