Australian Visa fine over Australian £60,000
Australia, December 2, 2009 – From BBC news that Crusader may have charged amounting to £60,000 with the irregularities on their visa that led to the UK Borders Agency that recently deported six of their Australia-born players.
From UKBA statement that it is a legal responsibilty for all the business to have the correct checks and the predicament to everyone who does not. The deported six Australian were banished from the UK for 10 years.
Nigel Wood of RFL said that they need to confirm with the UKBA to all the inquiries asked. In which these inquiry has just recently received and now commencing. Jace van Dijk, Tony Duggan, Damien Quinn, Josh Hannay, Darren Mapp and Mark Dalle Cort were all found to have breached the conditions for their UK entry in a previous year and had their visas revoked.
With these that they couldn’t done as it may have been prejudicial to questions that they were doing externally, added by Nigel Wood. In whilst Jane Farleigh said “Having considered all the circumstances of this case, it was not considered appropriate to pursue a criminal prosecution against Crusaders Rugby League Club. However, the club has been served with a civil penalty notice for employing six illegal workers.” Jane Farleigh is a regional director from UKBA in Wales and South West.
“The employers now face a fine of up to £60,000 unless they can prove to the agency that they accepted out legally-required checks previous to employing workers from outside Europe.
“Businesses have a legal accountability to take out the accurate checks and the penalties are relentless for those who do not.
“The players concerned have left the country and are now banned from working in the UK.”
