Australian Visa Centre Opens in Fiji

Australia, Sept 19, 2011 – Good news for people applying for Australian visas and are planning an Australia migration!

People will no longer be experiencing the hassle of waiting and lining up outside the Australian High Commission in Suva under tough weather conditions — may it be sunny or rainy — as the Australian High Commission has now decided to have a new visa application process.

The Australian High Commission has announced quite recently that it will be opening an Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in Suva.

According to an Australian High Commission spokesperson, the soon to open Fiji centre is expected to provide more convenient access to immigration and citizenship services for clients in Fiji.

To open in the 26th of this month of September, the new Australian Visa Application Centre in Suva, Fiji will look after Australian visa and Australian immigration citizenship applications.

So starting September 26, the Suva Australian Visa Application Centre at the Mid City Mall will be operational from that day and will start accepting Australia visa applications.

Moreover, another Australian Visa Application Centre will also be located at Lautoka and will start operating later this October, so there will be two application centers that will provide more convenient access to immigration Australia and citizenship services.

The establishment of a second Australian Visa Application Centre in Lautoka will be a first in Fiji that will surely provide a much greater access to the people in the Western division.

According to a spokesman of the Australian High Commission that the new Australian Visa Application Centers will also be offering extended operating hours. The opening hours will be 8.30am to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday
A $40 application service fee will be applicable.

Furthermore, according to the Australian High Commission, the immigration section of the Australian High Commission will continue to assess and decide all applications.
