Australian DFAT Issues Travel Advice Due to Thailand Floods

November 4, 2011 – The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) issued a statement on Sunday morning giving a warning for travelers to exercise a high degree of caution when travelling in Thailand. Thailand’s Prime Minister declared the country in crisis as “massive amount of floodwater” enters Bangkok. The flood is due to increasing water level at Chao Phraya river which affects other parts of the city.

Britain, Singapore, Canada, and the Netherlands issue the same advice against all but essential travel to Bangkok. However, while Thailand is on “crisis” due to a natural calamity, travelers might consider an alternative destination.

Australia is a good alternative place for destination. To get a tourist visa to Australia, is now so easy due to online services which process visa to travel to Australia.

It is a good advice for travelers to postpone any travel to Thailand until water seethes the ground. Though Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok’s main airport, is still operating normally, the city’s domestic airport is closed due to ongoing flooding. As seen on videos, planes stand up to their ankles in water. Besides, the Thailand government already declared a 5-day holiday for 21 provinces in Bangkok, starting Saturday. Visit nationalvisas.com .au homepage to avail visa services the earlier possible.
