Australia Tourist and Business through Sunshine Coast

July 1, 2011 – Sunshine Coasts’ natural and breathtaking natural resources have attracted the interest of Chinese investors.
Chinese business investors have expressed interest in buying a large local property estimated to be worth between $18 million and $20 million.
Sunshine Coast’s clean and well-presented overall environment and wonderful natural attractions have made an impression on families and company representatives from various parts of China who were shown Sunshine Coast.

The Chinese investors are largely looking at “large freehold businesses, farms and development opportunities including small to medium density housing sites, up to high-rise residential and commercial sites and large areas that are suitable for subdivision,” says Principal Rob Keam.
With these recent developments, Sunshine Coast’s economy is expected to benefit and revive the tourism sector.
Many people are projected to apply for tourist visa to Australia or visitor visa to Australia in this project if pushed through.
The tourism sector will surely flourish with many people applying for travel visa Australia; thus, improving the local economy.
Aussies Fear Assuaged
It has been a typical first reaction for Australians to fear Chinese investment.
However, Mr. Keam assures Aussies that the fear is misguided as many investors that he had met only wanted to work with local people to get projects off the ground.
Mr. Keam assured that Chinese investors prefer to work in conjunction with Australian partners.
Chinese investors would like to have a 50-50 joint venture with an Australian developer as they learn that Australian developers can do the job and they know they have to match the quality of the local building.
Chinese investors also would like to offer partnerships in their projects in China and would like to see a two-way street, according to Mr. Keam.
Likewise, Chinese investors would like to supply the local market affordable housing and be able to sell or lease some of it to Chinese students who are going to study in the local universities and to young people who would come and work in Australia.
