Australia is planning to increase the number of permanent migration visa Australian to 185,000 in the years 2011/12, with about two-thirds is planned to fill critical skill shortages in regional areas of Australia.
In support with this move, the Australian government’s skill stream intake will go up to 125,850 places, with 16,000 planned to be earmarked for rural Australia.
Chris Bowen, the Australian Immigration Minister said in his statement that regional visas will be processed as a priority over other visa meaning it will be given a high priority over other visas such as the Australian visa tourist and the like.
