Australia tightened its policy on student visas

June 1, 2010 Australia – According to the latest news in Australia regarding their student visa application stated they have strengthen their policy on students applicant to make sure these are only given to “genuine” individuals. From the press release that has been publicized quoted the minister of immigration and citizenship Chris Evans. He said the “tough new measures” will ensure that only “genuine international students are accepted to study in Australia”.

In accordance Evans said in an address to the American Chamber of Commerce in Perth stated that this changes on their policy will make a balance between making the visa application process easier for genuine students. With this they will refrain form those applicants who said to abuse the systems.

Including in the latest changes are giving students studying more than one course, greater than before powers to cancel visas and reorganization the dealing out of post-graduate students.

“This means that students applying for more than one course will be required to meet the highest level of risk assessment within their package of course. Further, changes have been made to the migration regulations to improve visa cancellation guidelines if it is found that a student has suspended or deferred studies for non-genuine reasons,” Evans said.
