Australia support the Baird Report
Australia, March 22, 2010 – The Baird Report by Bruce Baird was commissioned by the Australian Department for Education has been said to be approved the Australian Immigration and its Minister Chris Evans. The final report of the Baird Review on the legislation governing international education changes has been support by Evans as they think that these changes definitely make benefits among the customers.
The Baird Report for the Australian immigration changes has been proclaimed last February 8, 2010 according to the news Mr. Evans has no doubts in supporting this. He added that these changes with Australian immigration will help foreign students better on their safety and protection. One of the approved changes is that they will stop the Migration occupations in require listing which is to be substituted mid-year by a recent targeted skilled occupation listing that will expand by the independent body Skills Australia. New skilled jobs will said to be focused on “high value skills” such as the occupations and employment in areas including the healthcare, engineering and mining. The prediction on these changes is not yet concluded as there will be issues needed to be done.
Students who are now studying in Australia but not applied yet with the new skilled occupation are needed to be listed until the end of 2010 to apply for a short-term skilled graduate visa for up to 18 months to increase Australian work knowledge.
The Baird Report by Bruce Baird a former Australian Member of Parliament elevated some distress concerning the management of overseas students in Australia.
“The recent attacks, predominantly on young Indian students, have saddened me as an Australian. I have a strong interest in Australia’s successful multicultural ethos through my involvement in refugee issues, and it is extremely disappointment to see Australia’s reputation as a safe and tolerant country damaged. I condemn these acts of violence.” He said
