Asylum seekers are being taken for security

Australia, April 7, 2010 – From the recent news about the asylum seekers in Australia has been reported that there’s been a boat carrying almost 22 asylum seekers that has been taken to Christmas Island for the security purposes. The most recent interception comes as an extra 65 people were moved from Christmas Island to the mainland in Australia.

From the recent statement of the spokesman of the Immigration Department said that almost 34 of the asylum seekers that have been kept are at a detention centre in Sydney. In accordance to the recent decision by the department stated that they were “not owed Australia’s protection”. However they are indeed permitted to an independent to make another study of of their case before being deported from Australia.

The spokesman added that almost 11 alleged people smuggling crew members have been sent to a detention centre in Darwin, giving them the total number of 72 detainees. With the 20 people that have been sent to Brisbane and Melbourne whereas their processing continues.
