Crew members of airlines who wish to enter Australia are required to hold a valid passport. Additionally, they must also hold the necessary Australian visa-in their case they must be registered with the Crew Travel Authority (CTA).

The CTA is similar to the Australian ETA visa, in that it is also electronically stored and the passport will not have a label that indicates this. This Australian visa is valid for the life of the passport.

For instance, operational crew members are also required to have an Airline Identity Card.
